Utilization of Vacant Spaces

LB has nearly 400 vacant commercial properties leading to uncollected rents and potential squatter/crime opportunities.
Longbeach.gov has a list of scrapable vacancies. We can scrape the list, compare the list with other nearby use, demographics, opportunities, and suggest appropriate business utilization of these vacancies.
Filling the vacancies benefits the owner of the property as well as the surrounding community (provided it is a good, long-term match with the nearby community.) We can scrape other local real estate websites to get data for an AI algorithm to train on.

The platform will support local businesses in their ventures by providing easy access to valuable data, such as local, commercial real estate listings and more detailed information on specific regions of interest, such as business improvement districts (BIDs).
BIDs are privately directed but publicly sanctioned organizations that supplement public services in different areas of the city.

The City encourages business owners and entrepreneurs interested in establishing or expanding their business in Long Beach to explore the new mapping tool.

The platform and real estate data, powered by Ginkgo and Resimplifi, can be paired with the robust business analytics data already available through the City's Small Business Insights tool to provide further insights on local market conditions and areas that have potential for business development within the community.
